NDIS – The National Disability Insurance Scheme
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is the new way of providing individualised support for people with disability, their families and carers. The NDIS is insurance, which gives peace of mind. Disability can affect anyone, and having the right support available to you can make a real difference.
The NDIS provides eligible people a flexible, whole-way-of-life approach to the support they need to pursue their goals, fostering social inclusion and encouraging economic participation.
We are proud to announce that we are an NDIS Registered Provider in Mount Isa and Cloncurry.
Physiotherapists at Total Physio Albany can help with NDIS
Our physiotherapists can help people of all age groups and with different conditions. We help people take part in the community and to become more independent.
Our physiotherapists are experts in treating children, young adults and the ageing population with a disability, whether it involves heart and lung conditions, neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
We can assist you, or the person that you care for:
- get out of bed
- take a bath or shower, dress and eat
- move around the home and outside the home
- do daily jobs, or sports and hobbies
- manage pain and chronic conditions
- lose weight
- choose and learn to use new equipment, like wheelchairs, walking frames and orthotics.
- increase strength and flexibility
- become more independent
Depending on your needs, you may need a short burst of care from our physiotherapists. Or you may need ongoing care for a longer time to achieve your goals. We can put a plan together to help you now, and into the future.
Some health conditions need a number of health experts to work together. Our physiotherapists also work closely with other health workers. Together we can help you manage more complex needs.
If you have not experienced physiotherapy before, you can rest assured that it is both safe and effective in getting you closer to your goals. We employ evidence and research to guide us in working out the most effective treatments for you. We must also meet the same strict legal requirements to work, just like your GP and nurses.
